Why I Built ThriveSpace: A Letter to Ambitious Students

That’s exactly where I was not too long ago.

As a first-generation college student who started at community college, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. There were so many moments when I felt behind — like everyone else had access to some secret playbook I never got. It wasn’t for lack of ambition or effort. I worked hard. But I was constantly piecing things together alone: how to find internships, how to transfer, how to apply for scholarships, how to stand out in a competitive world that didn’t always feel built for me.

Eventually, I figured it out. I transferred to a top university. I built a career I’m proud of. But getting there took longer, cost more, and felt lonelier than it ever should have.

That’s why I created ThriveSpace.
